Enterprise Information World Unites Industry Leaders to Create the Information Centric Enterprise
Experts from Application Management, Records and Information Management, Security, and IT Convene to Teach Best Practices
San Francisco, Calif. (May 9, 2006) The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) will host the Enterprise Information World (EIW) Conference May 23-26, 2006. This event has been designed to provide a forum to teach customers how to transform their organizations to collaboratively solve the problems of compliance, legal, and security risks using information-based practices.
In doing so, EIW offers participants a number of industry firsts:
- EIW is the only event that unites leaders from the four key adminstrators of information; Application Management, Records and Information Management (RIM), Information Technology, and Information Security, teaching collaboration around information-based management practices.
- EIW introduces "Application-based Information Lifecycle Management" (ILM): Six of the leading application management providers will be sharing their approach to embedding ILM practices into their products. These companies include Oracle, SAP, IBM-DB2, Microsoft, EMC-Documentum, and FileNet.
- For the first time, EIW puts information security in context with the rest of information-based management and establishes it as a cornerstone element of information classification.
Jeff Porter, Chair of the SNIA Data Management Forum adds, "EIW uniquely sets the stage for attendees to obtain a deep understanding of how information-based management practices such as ILM really improve enterprise operations and reduce risk. It is critical that all of the areas of a business that are responsible for information within an enterprise be brought together to share and collaborate on best practices. This is the charter of all of the organizations that have come together to create this event. Come join us!"
This theme of collaboration is embedded throughout the EIW conference proceedings. For this purpose, eight trade associations have joined forces to define and co-market this event: SNIA, ARMA International, Health Care Compliance Association and Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, Society of Corporate Compliance & Ethics, Contengency Planning Exchange, Information Technology for Financial Management Association, Computer Measurement Group, and the Information Assurance Consortium.
Enterprise Information World is being held May 23-25, 2006 just outside metropolitan New York City at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Secaucus, New Jersey. The 2 -day educational conference will provide attendees with the latest tools and best practices that they can apply within their organizations to help reduce the risk, cost and complexity of compliance, legal discovery, security vulnerability and business interruption.
