| The SNIA Data Management Forum is pleased to announce that a new report titled “Building a Terminology Bridge: Guidelines to Digital Information Retention and Preservation Practices in the Datacenter”.The release of this report concludes 2 years of work started by the DMF’s Long-Term Archive and Compliant Storage Initiative (LTACSI) in collaboration with the DMF ILM Initiative (ILMI). |
Terminology used in the datacenter can be very confusing. IT professionals, records administrators, security, legal, and compliance officers, along with the business groups, all have their own vernacular and they all hold a portion of the responsibility for maintaining corporate information assets. Communicating effectively with one another, in order to establish appropriate policies and procedures related to the retention and preservation of digital information, is the challenge.

An associated whitepaper titled "The Need for a Terminology Bridge" explains how collaborative communication can help you make the right decisions for your organization. Click here to access whitepaper.
Now it is time to put this report to use!
