ILM Maturity Model Resources

The SNIA DMF Information Lifecycle Management Initiative has gone beyond the marketing hype that has surrounded ILM for the past 5 years, by launching the new “ILM Maturity Model.”

The ILM Maturity Model provides both a self–assessment method and a roadmap of sorts, outlining the steps that organizations have taken, or need to take, to achieve a self–regulating, optimized, policy–based information management practice.

Organizations looking to reduce operating costs and improve efficiencies in the data center need to assess their information assets and have a roadmap for improvement. A vendor–neutral Information Lifecycle Management Maturity self–assessment tool and associated whitepaper are now available for download.

Members of the ILMI recently recorded a webcast on this topic which is also available for viewing. This Webcast will show you, in these challenging economic times, how sound ILM practices have evolved in the data center as a tool to cut costs.

Several members of SNIA’s End-User Community contributed in this joint effort with the Data Management Forum’s ILM Initiative to develop this model of ILM maturity that you can use today. The presenters will discuss the model, how to perform an assessment, and how to interpret and use the results. The session also describes how two companies used the model to identify investment opportunities.

If you are interested in learning more about the ILM Initiative - please contact Bob Rogers, ILMI Chair.
